Liposonix New York, Liposonix NYC

As the demand for non-invasive body contouring has increased, including in New York and Long Island, a new crop of devices have been developed to terminate fat cells without disrupting other types of cells. Liposonix is one of the more interesting devices, along with popular brands like Coolsculpting. Dr. Rokhsar has been featured on local and national TV to showcase and explain fat reduction technologies. He often sees patients from other states and countries that rely on his experience in non-surgical fat reduction.

LipoSonix reduces fat volume by focusing on high-intensity ultrasound energy on the problem area. Once the fat cells have been broken down, the body disposes of the damaged adipose cells. As the body removes the cells over the subsequent weeks, patients typically begin to notice a marked decrease in local fat volume.

The Liposonix Procedure

Liposonix sessions take up to an hour, during which Dr. Rokhsar can cover the entire abdomen area. Patients usually report various levels of coldness, heat, tingling, or slight discomfort during treatment.

After Treatment

There is not a prolonged recovery period after LipoSonix – patients can usually resume their normal routine after leaving the office. Side effects are temporary and include redness, mild bruising, tenderness, hematomas, and minor swelling. Results generally appear within three months after the first treatment session and can be maintained as long as patients follow their recommended diet and exercise regimen.

Am I a good candidate?

LipoSonix is generally intended to treat the following areas:

  • Stomach
  • Thighs
  • Love Handles
  • Back
  • Bra line fat
  • Hips
  • Buttocks
  • Any other problem areas that are resistant to diet and exercise.

*Results may vary.

Most healthy individuals are good candidates for LipoSonix, with few exceptions. Patients who are pregnant, using certain hematologic medications, have a BMI greater than 30 (obese), and have less than 1cm of fatty tissue below ideal treatment depth are not candidates for the procedure.

It is important to remember that LipoSonix and similar procedures are not treatments for obesity or a weight loss cure. They are intended for body sculpting and minor volume reduction only.

Liposonix FAQ

How is Liposonix different than other fat reduction procedures?

The Liposonix treatment is a non-invasive and high-intensity focused ultrasound that can diminish waistline fat without surgery. Results can typically be seen with 8 to 12 weeks with an average of 1-inch waistline reduction. *Individual results will vary from patient to patient.

How long does the Liposonix treatment take?

The treatment time depends entirely on the patient’s cosmetic goals, overall health and treatment area. In most cases sessions last for about an hour.

What is Liposonix?

Liposonix is a non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy (HIFU) to destroy unwanted fat cells in targeted areas. The device selectively disrupts and permanently eliminates fat cells in the treated area, which are then flushed out by the lymphatic system in the following weeks and months, resulting in a permanent reduction of fat in the treated area. The treatment has minimal downtime and side effects.

Liposonix is commonly used to reduce waist size and eliminate unwanted fat cells from areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, and flanks. The treatment uses high-intensity ultrasound energy to destroy fat cells and is non-invasive, meaning it requires no incisions or stitches, and there are no lengthy recovery times or hefty surgeon bills. Liposonix can remove about 2.5 cm of adipose tissue per treatment. Liposonix is generally considered to be safe and effective, and it is a popular alternative to traditional liposuction.

The Liposonix machine generates concentrated and highly focused ultrasound waves called High-Intensity Ultrasound Energy (HIFU), which are targeted at fat stores. Liposonix can be used to eliminate fat cells in areas where traditional liposuction cannot be used, such as areas with dense fibrous tissue or small treatment areas.

How does Liposonix work?

Liposonix is a non-surgical, non-invasive fat reduction treatment that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy (HIFU) to destroy unwanted fat cells in specific areas of the body. The ultrasound energy is focused on a depth of 1-2 cm below the surface of the skin, which avoids any burns or trauma to the skin and makes the treatment more comfortable. The high-intensity ultrasound energy heats up the fat cells to the point of destruction, which triggers the body’s natural lymphatic system to flush out the damaged cells over the next few weeks and months, leading to a permanent reduction of fat in the treated area. Liposonix is an excellent non-invasive cosmetic procedure for those who find it difficult to remove fat deposits on specific areas of the body.

The Liposonix treatment is primarily designed for the abdomen and flanks, although it can also be used on other areas of the body, such as the thighs, to target and destroy fat cells. The treatment is intended for people who are already in shape and looking to lose any remaining stubborn fat.

The safety of Liposonix treatment has been evaluated for six months after treatment, and the adverse events reported were mild during and after the procedure, such as bruising and swelling. There were no serious adverse events or unanticipated problems.
