Scar Removal Guide

Our scar removal guide covers treatment for acne scars, surgical scars, traumatic scars, burns, and other visible changes left after skin injury. No procedure can erase every scar. Treatment aims to improve color, texture, depth, thickness, or how closely the scar blends with nearby skin.

Different scars require different methods. Fraxel can improve selected acne, surgical, and traumatic scars. Fractional CO2 resurfacing may be used for deeper textural change. Subcision releases certain depressed acne scars. Other cases may require punch excision, injections, vascular lasers, or surgical scar revision.

Dr. Cameron Rokhsar published early research on laser scar treatment with Fraxel. His work included acne and surgical scars.
