Over time, the body begins to slow down its production of an important substance: collagen. As a result, the skin gradually loses its structure and youthful smoothness and it begins to wrinkle, loosen, and droop. Dermal fillers can be used to treat wrinkles. When injected filler into the area of concern, dermal fillers can help diminish facial lines and restore fullness back to the face. Dermal fillers1 can help lessen early signs of aging, or they can be used in conjunction with facial rejuvenation surgery.
Emervel is a softer type of temporary dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid gel, a natural substance that acts as a cushioning and hydrating mechanism that can enhance the skin’s appearance and help minimize visible signs of aging. The treatment involves a non-surgical injection that only takes about 15 to 45 minutes to complete. Emervel2 can last up to 12 months depending on the treatment area. It is often used to smooth out wrinkles and folds around the mouth, volumize the lips, soften and reduce lines around the eyes, and define and restore volume to the cheeks.
There are five different types of treatment options. Emervel Touch is used for superficial lines that appear when wrinkles first start to develop around the eyes and on the upper lip. Emervel Classic is a stronger hyaluronic acid gel that is used to treat moderate wrinkles. It can be used to treat lines around the nose to the corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds), lines from the corner of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines), and rings under the eyes (tear troughs). The third type of Emervel dermal filler is designed specifically to treat sensitive lips. This gentle contouring gel can revitalize thinning lips and address unevenness that may occur during the aging process. Emervel Deep is the fourth on the dermal fillers and used for correcting deeper wrinkles or refining the mid-face area. Lastly, Emervel Volume is used to replenish facial volume and increase firmness in the cheek area. It is also used to define and contour the facial structure of patients who have experienced a dropping in the facial pads beneath their skin.
After the hyaluronic acid gel is injected, the filler is delicately massaged into the treatment area. The hyaluronic acid provides a gentle lift to the area of concern, subtly filling out of the folds and creases to give the face a rejuvenated appearance.
