How to Get a More Youthful Looking Face Without Surgery
A liquid facelift is non-surgical treatment that uses injectable treatments to fill in lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. Dr. Rokhsar offers a wide variety of options for each patient based on the desired outcome.
Those wishing to reduce the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet, Botox® injections are a common procedure. Juvederm, Restylane and fat injections are used to add fullness to the lips as well as Sculptra to fill in sunken cheeks.
A liquid facelift procedure that tightens the skin and increases the collagen and elastin of the skin is called The Thermage®. This procedure uses patented radiofrequency technology to deliver heat to the collagen in your lower layers of the skin resulting in tightening. You can improve sagging skin of the jowls, face and neck with this procedure without any cutting. Brow elevation may be possible with treatment of the forehead.
Dr. Rokhsar uses the most advanced and innovative protocols for the use of Thermage with superior results. Dr. Rokhsar was involved in several research projects investigating the effectiveness of Thermage for skin tightening following liposuction of the abdomen and the breasts.
The Thermage procedure is a non-invasive treatment that gives you tighter skin, renewed facial contours and healthier collagen. The Thermage procedure is available only by a qualified physician, such as Dr. Rokhsar, who specializes in cosmetic procedures. Your physician is your best information resource for determining how this treatment will most benefit you.
About the procedure
The Thermage procedure employs a patented technology called ThermaCool™. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. The incision-free procedure is fast and easy, and requires no downtime from normal activities. Unlike lasers, the procedure can be performed on patients of all skin types. The ThermaCool device has been cleared by the FDA for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles.
Immediately following a Thermage procedure, your skin may feel tighter, smoother and more youthful. Over time, you will notice additional tightening. Unlike many laser procedures requiring four or more sessions, a single Thermage treatment has produced results in the majority of patients. Your physician will determine the course of treatment that is right for you. The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from twenty minutes to two hours, depending on the size of the treatment area. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure.
How it works
The ThermaCool system uses ThermaTip™, which delivers a controlled amount of CRF energy. With each touch to the skin, the ThermaTip device uniformly heats a volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue while simultaneously helping to protect the outer layer of the skin with cooling. This deep uniform heating action causes deep structures in your skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.
What it feels like
You will experience a brief, deep heating sensation as the CRF energy is delivered to your skin and underlying tissue. This deep heating sensation is your indication that your collagen is reaching effective temperatures for tightening. The physician controls the amount of energy delivered to balance procedural comfort with maximum results. The ThermaTip device is cooled before, during, and after heating to protect your skin and make the treatment more comfortable. Prior to treatment, an anesthetic cream may be applied to enhance your comfort. Additionally, your physician may also prescribe relaxants and/or pain medication.
Ulthera is another innovative cosmetic laser option that utilized acoustic energy deep into the soft tissue to promote collagen formation and skin tightening. The device can emit the energy at various levels, allowing Dr. Rokhsar to precisely administer the right amount of energy based on the particular area of the face being treated.
