Rosacea Laser Therapy
Rosacea is a skin condition characterized by a redness that appears on the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. The cause is unknown, but if left untreated, the redness can become more persistent, revealing visible blood vessels and in extreme cases bumps, pimples and swollen skin may occur. Symptoms begin to occur around age thirty and include bloodshot eye irritation, burning or stinging of the face, dry appearance, raised red patches also known as plaques, skin thickening and swelling. It is also important to note that rosacea is not limited to the face, but can spread to the neck, chest, scalp and ears.
Lasers are the most effective treatment for facial blood vessel appearance. The pulsed dye laser (PDL) has been used to treat rosacea for years. The V-Beam is the newest and most effective type of laser for rosacea treatment. This form of medical therapy can control and in most cases, reverse the signs and symptoms of rosacea.
The V-Beam works best with multiple treatments and uses a cooling spray instead of numbing cream or anesthesia to put the patient at ease. The broken capillaries are selectively targeted and absorb the laser’s energy, completely eliminating their appearance.
The Perfecta brand utilizes advanced micro-pulse technology which uses a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) to eliminate patient downtime and prevent post-treatment bruising.
