Using a technique called LipoSelection®, VASER Liposuction targets specific areas of the body in a more precise and innovative form of the traditional liposuction. Ultrasonic waves break up and separate fat cells for removal, Tumescent fluid, a pretreatment saline solution that numbs the area and shrinks blood cells to substantially reduce blood loss is injected into the fatty layer, and a small probe is inserted into incisions made by Dr. Rokhsar. The probe’s high frequency vibration causes the tumescent fluid to mix with fat cells and loosened fat is then gently suctioned out of the area. All blood vessels, veins and connective tissue are left unharmed during the process.

Traditional liposuction is a more extensive surgical procedure used to remove excess fat from deposits between skin and muscle. After intravenous sedation anesthesia is administered, small incisions are made across the area and a stainless tube is inserted. A strong suction pump removes the fat through the tube, making the total operation last up to one hour, depending on the amount of fat being removed.

Candidates for liposuction should have sustained a relatively stable weight for months prior to surgery. Dietary consultation is advised before seeking surgical fat-removal options. The most frequent areas liposuction is performed on women is the outer and inner thighs, hips, waist, upper and upper back rolls. In men, love handles, breasts, and chest area are most typically treated.

Dr. Rokhsar is highly qualified and experienced in both liposuction and Vaser liposuction. Dr. Rokhsar can perform Vaser  liposuction in his New York and Long Island offices, allowing him to provide another fat reduction option for his patients, with this minimally invasive technique.
