SculpSure Laser Treatment in New York

Sculpt Your Body

Weight loss is difficult, especially as men and women age. Fat becomes stubborn and tends to form pouches on the abdomen, hips, and thighs, despite efforts to follow a healthy diet, exercise, and sleeping patterns. In 2015, the FDA approved SculpSure1, a laser treatment to eliminate fat without having to make an incision.

This non-invasive treatment relies on a technology that targets fat cells and delivers hyperthermic temperature to the area. SculpSure working by emitting extreme cold temperatures to shock fat cells because they are more vulnerable to cold temperatures than the surrounding tissue. Once the fat cell is shocked, it releases from your tissues and dies over the course of a few weeks.

SculpSure FAQ

How Does SculpSure Work?

At the same time, SculpSure’s2 application head sends heat into the skin so no adverse effect occurs from the cold temperatures. It also reduces the likelihood of the patient experiencing any pain from the treatment. After the fat cells are destroyed, the body naturally expels them and leaves the treated area flat, firm, and tighter than it was prior to treatment. The treatment lasts half an hour and typically requires only one session, and patients can see results as quickly as six weeks and optimal results in as few as twelve weeks. The last also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin – two proteins that help the body maintain a healthy and firm appearance. There is no downtime needed post-procedure. Patients can return right back to work and other activities following treatment.

SculpSure or Coolsculpting – What Works Best?

  1. SculpSure melts fat; Coolsculpting freezes fat cells and destroys them
  2. Coolsculpting has been FDA-approved for 7 years. SculpSure has been in the market since 2015. There are more clinical studies and patients who underwent Coolsculpting treatments and therefore it is considered the gold standard in non-surgical fat removal. The FDA approved Coolsculpting3 to treat multiple body areas, whereas SculpSure is only cleared for the abdomen, flanks, and fat under the chin.
  3. Both treatments are not painful; at the same time, expect some discomfort – 35 minutes for Coolsculpting with Dr. Rokhsar’s new Cooladvantage applicator, 25 minutes for SculpSure.
  4. SculpSure is too new to know if the effects remain in place in the years after treatment. Coolsculpting demonstrated that results are maintained for years after treatment.

What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a non-invasive, laser-based body contouring treatment that aims to reduce and eliminate fat from the body. This treatment uses diode-laser energy to permanently destroy stubborn fat cells without disrupting the surface layer of the skin. The FDA approves this treatment for the back, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, and flanks (waist). SculpSure can be used to target either a single area of fat or multiple areas at once and works well on both men and women. The SculpSure 1060 nanometer wavelength technology specifically targets subcutaneous fat tissue.

Unlike traditional liposuction, SculpSure is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure that uses heat to melt fat cells, which are then eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system over several days or weeks. One procedure takes an average of 25 minutes and requires no downtime or recovery. Because it’s non-surgical, there aren’t any incisions made on your body or liposuction used to remove the fat. The downside of Sculpsure is that it barely works. Dr. Rokhsar recommends to consider either coolsculpting or tumescent liposuction which works far better compared to sculpsure.

How much is SculpSure treatment?

The cost of SculpSure treatment can vary depending on the location, complexity of the treatment, professional fee of the expert, and the reputation of the clinic. In most cases it is comparable to other popular non-invasive body contouring procedures such as CoolSculpting and. Coolsculpting appears to work better than SculpSure. Liposuction works best in Dr. Rokhsar’s hands.

How many SculpSure treatments are needed?

The number of SculpSure treatments needed can vary depending on the individual, the amount of fat to be removed, and the desired results. As a general rule of thumb, most clients need between one and three treatments per area they are removing fat from. However, many patients need two or more treatments to reach their fat reduction goals. It is recommended to have the treatments done in sets of 1 to 3 sessions every 6 weeks to achieve optimal results. Treatment plans vary person to person, and a certified SculpSure provider will develop a plan specifically for each individual based on their goals. The best candidates for SculpSure treatments are typically within 30 pounds of their ideal weight, with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 for SculpSure body treatments and 49 or less for submental fat (aka a double chin). SculpSure is not intended for weight loss, but for non-invasive fat reduction. Each SculpSure treatment kills up to 24% of fat cells in a targeted area, according to clinical studies funded by the manufacturer. Dr. Rokhsar recommends to consider Coolsculpting or liposuction instead of SculpSure.

Which is better: CoolSculpting or SculpSure?

CoolSculpting is superior when compared to SculpSure in terms of effectiveness and comfort during the procedure. CoolSculpting has recently released new handpieces that allow for smaller treatment areas, making it more competitive with SculpSure in terms of versatility and treatment time. However, you should know that both CoolSculpting and SculpSure are far inferior to liposuction when it comes to results. Ultimately, the decision on which treatment is better would depend on individual needs and preferences, and should be made in consultation with a board-certified dermatologist. Dr. Rokhsar prefers liposuction because of far better results he can deliver both over CoolSculpting and SculpSure.
