Dr. Cameron Rokhsar, an internationally renowned dermatologist and laser surgeon, is a Board Certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained cosmetic, laser, and MOHS surgeon with private practices in NYC and Long Island. He is often featured in national TV shows and magazines and has trained hundreds of physicians in his techniques. Dr. Rokhsar was involved in research and development of some of the most popular cosmetic devices such as the Fraxel laser. Dr. Rokhsar also pioneered the use of fillers in nasal contouring or the Non-Surgical Nose job.
Dr. Rokhsar is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Rokhsar is active in several professional societies, including inclusion on the board of trustees for the International Society of Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons, the Ethics Committee for the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Chair for the abstract session of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Rokhsar is a sought after consultant and trainer for various laser technology and drug companies. He has served a speaker and trainer for Allergan for numerous years, training other doctors on injection techniques for Botox and fillers, trainer and speaker for Galderma (training doctors on the use of Restylane), as well as trainer and speaker for Merz (training other doctors on techniques on the use of the filler, Radiesse). Dr. Rokhsar trained thousands of other physicians on the use and techniques of the Fraxel laser having conducted the pivotal FDA clinical trials and introduced this laser to Australia, Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America in 2005. He also served as a trainer for the Vbeam laser, Thermitight, Coolsculpting, and miraDry during his career. Dr. Rokhsar has also served frequently as a medical-legal expert witness both privately and for the State of New York’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct.
Dr. Rokhsar completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and attended medical school at The New York University School of Medicine where he received his doctorate of medicine. After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as Chief Resident. Dr. Rokhsar currently serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology. Fraxel has become the number one laser resurfacing procedure in the world. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians worldwide on the use of Fraxel than any other physician. Dr. Rokhsar also conducted the early FDA trials for Portrait resurfacing and has been involved in clinical trials for testing on a variety of other laser devices, including the Pulse Dye Laser, Thermage®, Ulthera, MiraDry, and laser liposuction systems.
Dr. Rokhsar is an extensively published medical author of several chapters in major medical textbooks. Dr. Rokhsar published the first report on the use of the Fraxel laser for scars, wrinkles, and melasma. He also published the first scientific study on the use of fillers for the non-surgical nose job.
Dr. Rokhsar invented many non-surgical facial enhancement procedures throughout his career, such as the non-surgical nose job and non-surgical eye lift. His innovative procedures and techniques have been featured on many popular shows and in leading publications.
