Dr. Cameron Rokhsar, MD, an internationally renowned dermatologist and fellowship-trained laser and MOHS surgeon, is double board-certified in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery. Dr. Rokhsar has testified numerous times pertaining to issues surrounding the proper standard of care in the practice of dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and laser and energy-based procedures. Attorneys on all spectrums of litigation including malpractice and medical defense have relied on Dr. Rokhsar’s expertise to navigate through complex medical issues, to either reach a settlement or pursue a full trial. Dr. Rokhsar also routinely serves as an expert witness for the State of New York’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct to review the merit of allegations surrounding physician misconduct.

Education and trainings

Dr. Rokhsar - lecturer at American Society for Laser Medicine and SurgeryDr. Rokhsar completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and attended medical school at The New York University School of Medicine, where he received his doctorate of medicine. After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as chief resident. Dr. Rokhsar went on to receive additional training in the form of a laser and dermatologic surgery fellowship under the auspices of the world-renowned dermatologist and laser surgeon, the late Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick, regarded by many to be the father of laser surgery. Dr. Rokhsar currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology where he teaches the cosmetic dermatology clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Clinical trials pioneer

Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in developing several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems and energy-based devices. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in developing the Fraxel laser technology. Fraxel has since become the number-one laser resurfacing procedure in the world. Dr. Rokhsar introduced the Fraxel laser through lectures and special training sessions to physicians around the world including in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philipines), Europe (England, Germany) and South America (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia) in addition to Australia and Canada. In fact, Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians worldwide about techniques and protocols involving Fraxel, than any other physician.
