How to Prevent Dry Skin in Spring?

Spring is the perfect time to have a fresh, clean start to your skin’s health. The winter has dried you out for so long, but now that the weather’s changing and summer is just around the corner, a clear complexion is a great beginning to the season.

Chemical Peels are a facial skin rejuvenation procedure used to treat superficial to moderate skin damage. A chemical solution is placed on the skin in this in-office procedure. Over the next few days the skin will blister and peel off, approximately three to five days. For those that will undergo a medium-depth or deep peeling may experience more redness, swelling, blistering and peeling for seven to fourteen days. There are medications available to alleviate discomfort. Newer, fresher skin with less wrinkles and a smoother surface takes its place. The immediate effect right after the procedure looks similar to sunburn. The patient should avoid sun exposure and use sun protection at all times to ensure quality results.

Fillers and Botox: Dr. Rokhsar provides several different techniques in order to reach your cosmetic goals to look younger and healthier. Botox and fillers are effective and quick, non-invasive ways to achieve a healthier, younger, and more refreshed looking you. Fillers such as Radiesse give the skin a youthful lift. It is made out of hyaluronic acid, a biodegradable material found in the body so results will last for up to a year. Botox is another effective technique for achieving a taut and refreshed version of yourself. Botox temporarily paralyzes certain facial muscles so they are not overusing the skin and creating deep wrinkles. This will last three to four months as the purified neurotoxin is not a permanent solution to skin tightening and lifting.

Microdermabrasion treatments are an excellent way to start your skin over new. This exfoliating treatment uses a wand to gently sand the skin’s surface. Once the dead, excess has been taken off the face, a small vacuum removes all debris, uncovering a fresher newer surface of skin cells. This prevents clogged pores and breakouts, while promoting the growth of newer, healthier skin. Superficial wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, large pores, mild acne, age spots and dull skin tone can also treated using this technique. The entire treatment takes only 15 minutes and is performed by Dr. Rokhsar’s highly trained staff who he taught himself. Best results are seen when the patient undergoes a microdermabrasion treatment every three to five weeks.
